VARGAS APPOINTED TO WAYS AND MEANS, THREE OTHER COMMITTEES
BOSTON, MA— Representative Andy X. Vargas was today appointed to the House Committee on Ways and Means, which authors and approves of the state budget, as well as any and all spending bills that move through the House of Representatives.
“I’ve always believed that what we fund is what we value,” said Representative Vargas. “I’m honored to have been named to the Ways and Means Committee, where I can help drive the conversation on fiscal prudence and smart investments that will build a stronger Commonwealth.”
Representative Vargas was also appointed to the Joint Committee on Education, the Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Businesses, and the Joint Committee on Public Health.
“Since my election to the House, I’ve spent a lot of time listening and trying to solve issues that our constituents face,” said Representative Vargas. “Time and time again, residents of Haverhill tell me that their top priorities are improving our schools, supporting our small business, and ensuring the health of all in our community. I look forward to being a voice on these issues and supporting legislation that helps Haverhill move forward.”
